Deadlines are my greatest inspiration!
Denise is influenced by Beckett, Shakespeare, Raymond Carver, Angela Carter, Complicite, John Berger, John Fante, JDSalinger, JKRowling, Chris Thorpe, Arthur Miller, to name a few.
Denise has written eight original theatre plays for the Miracle Players. These plays are based on the works of Ancient Latin authors, such as Plutarch, Livy, Tacitus, Seutonius et al, and their subject matter is Ancient Rome and its protagonists. The plays are performed al fresco at the Roman Forum, where many of the original events occurred. They are comedies with the intent of making history hysterical.
Since 2001 Denise has collaborated with RAI Scuola and Il Divertinglese both as a consultant and as a writer on programmes such as “Tracy and Polpetta” and “Make and Do”, and Erasmus Plus Stories.
Denise selected the monologues for Shakespeare’s Tragic Heroes, currently in production.
Denise has also written over 150 episodes of “Blue Cow” for “The Storymakers” for the BBC.
